Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 1 egg
  • 1 cup breadcrumbs
  • 1/2 cup milk
  • 1/2 onion, finely chopped
  • 1/2 tsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 2 cups mashed potatoes (prepared)
  • 1 1/2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • 1/2 cup crumbled cooked bacon
  • 2 tbsp chopped parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Grease a 9x9 casserole dish.
  2. In a bowl, mix ground beef, egg, breadcrumbs, milk, onion, garlic powder, salt, and pepper until combined.
  3. Press the meat mixture into the casserole dish and bake for 20 minutes.
  4. Remove from oven, spread mashed potatoes evenly on top.
  5. Sprinkle with shredded cheese and bacon.
  6. Return to oven and bake for another 15 minutes or until cheese is bubbly.
