Glowing Skin Morning Shot – Drinks and Smoothie Recipes

Some mornings, I wake up feeling like I’ve been sleeping under a radiator with a cactus. Dry skin, dull eyes, and a deep craving for something that doesn’t come in a coffee mug. Sound familiar? That’s where this little zinger of a drink comes in. It’s sharp in all the right ways—ginger that bites back (in a good way), lemon that wakes your senses, and chia seeds that… well, they do their squishy little dance and bring the fiber. It’s not magic, but it’s pretty close if you ask my reflection. I started mixing up this drink when my skincare routine hit a wall, and I needed a boost from the inside. Now it’s my quick and healthy breakfast ritual. If you’ve ever wanted your face to say, ‘Hey, I drink water and get eight hours of sleep’—this is your drink. It belongs in your daily lineup of recipes and drinks, especially if you're into smoothie drink recipes that actually do something. Let’s make it together.

Ingredients

  • 1 cup water
  • 1 tbsp chia seeds
  • 1/2 lemon, freshly squeezed
  • 1/4 tsp ground turmeric
  • 1/2 inch fresh ginger, grated (or 1/4 tsp ground ginger)
  • 1 tsp raw honey (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a glass, mix chia seeds with water and let them sit for 10 minutes. This lets the seeds expand and get jelly-like.
  2. After the chia seeds have soaked, stir in the lemon juice, grated ginger, turmeric, and honey if you're using it.
  3. Stir well. You want everything evenly mixed. The turmeric might try to clump, but show it who's boss.
  4. Drink it right away for a zingy start to your day. Or refrigerate for 15 minutes if you prefer it chilled.
