Ingredients

  • 1 lb (450g) boneless, skinless chicken breast, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • 2 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons oil (vegetable or canola)
  • 3 tablespoons honey
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 2 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon chili flakes (optional, for heat)
  • Chopped green onions and sesame seeds for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a bowl, toss the chicken pieces with cornstarch, salt, and pepper until well coated.
  2. Heat the oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat.
  3. Add the chicken to the skillet in a single layer and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown and fully cooked—about 7–8 minutes.
  4. While the chicken cooks, whisk together the honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, and chili flakes in a small bowl.
  5. Once the chicken is cooked, reduce the heat to low and pour the sauce over the chicken.
  6. Stir well to coat each piece and let the sauce simmer for 2–3 minutes until it thickens slightly and clings to the chicken.
  7. Remove from heat and garnish with chopped green onions and sesame seeds if using.
  8. Serve hot with rice, noodles, or over a fresh salad.
